Beyond the Name

My Endeavors

I believe that a person is more than their name, their age, or their grades. We are the sum of our interests, the lessons from our failures, and the silent progress we make when no one is watching. Here are some of the endeavors that have shaped me.

In 10th grade, I launched Re:Shoes, a venture that began as a simple business idea but quickly grew into something far more meaningful. With the foundation of my family's shoemaking background, I had the advantage of technical expertise and access to quality materials. But Re:Shoes was never just about selling shoes and every cent earned would be donated to those in need. That single choice transformed Re:Shoes from a school experiment into a mission.

The early days tested my courage. I was inexperienced, shy, and uncertain how to persuade others. My first attempts to sell shoes failed. But I soon realized that success required more than a good idea-it needed perseverance and community. With the encouragement of teachers, parents, and volunteers, the project gained momentum and eventually raised enough funds to support meaningful charity trips.

The true reward, however, came not in numbers but in moments. I can still picture myself placing a pair of shoes into the hands of a child in the Vietnamese highlands, watching their eyes light up with gratitude. That time, that spark of joy, was the real "profit." It taught me that business, when rooted in compassion, can marry purpose above profit, and the best forms of success.

I have always believed that ideas carry power-but in Vietnam, I noticed something missing: a formal channel where young people could voice those ideas and be part of the national conversation. Inspired by my experiences in Model United Nations, my work as a writer and my growing interest for Political Science, I envisioned a platform that was not just a space to talk, but a space to shape.

YouthSpeak was built to be more than an open forum. I designed it as a crucible of thought, where perspectives are not only shared but also tested, refined, and transformed into contributions that matter. It is a place where the voices of my generation can be amplified-where youthful insights become catalysts for real dialogue in public life.

To me, YouthSpeak is both a platform and a promise: that the voices of Vietnam's youth will no longer remain on the margins, but will step into the center of conversations that shape our collective future.

The Vietnam Youth Index is a pioneering initiative designed to capture and reflect the lived realities of young people across all 63 provinces of Vietnam. Built on direct voices collected through online surveys, the project paints a vivid and interactive portrait of how Vietnamese youth perceive their lives, their challenges, and their aspirations. It goes beyond statistics to reveal the nuances of youth sentiment-from their views on education and healthcare, to opportunities for personal growth and civic participation.

At its core, the Vietnam Youth Index seeks to ensure that the voices of young people are not only heard but valued as vital data for change. By translating personal experiences into measurable insights, the project provides policymakers and social organizations with reliable evidence to guide decisions. Its ultimate goal is clear: to foster sustainable, fair, and inclusive development for Vietnam's youth, empowering a generation whose perspectives are essential to shaping the nation's future.

This research, conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Nguyễn Hồng Thao at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and published by the Asian Independent Journals Publishing Group, examines China's expression of influence in Southeast Asia through cultural diplomacy and soft power. Drawing on Joseph Nye's theoretical framework, the study analyzes both the mechanisms of China's cultural initiatives and the political-economic motives behind them.

The findings reveal a paradox: while China has built a visible cultural presence, its approach remains constrained by limited genuine appeal. By integrating cultural diplomacy theory with Joseph Nye's soft power theory with regional geopolitical analysis, the study proposes a more fluid-based model of culture diplomacy, offering valuable insights for both policymakers and scholars in navigating China's evolving influence in the region.

At the intersection of history and digital culture, this research sheds light on how Vietnamese youth are reshaping the memory of April 30, 1975-Liberation and Reunification Day-through the lens of social media. Conducted under the guidance of Dr. Nguyễn Minh Trâng and published in the International Journal of Education, Business and Economics, the paper moves beyond traditional historical analysis to explore how young people's voices, expressed through social media, create new layers of meaning around a pivotal national event.

By combining theories of cultural memory, post-memory, and participatory culture with cross-platform content analysis, the paper not only illustrates the creativity and agency of youth but also questions the boundaries between personal and collective memory lived in the 21st century. It positions digital storytelling as both an educational tool and a powerful medium for sustaining historical identity.

MUN Dewey 2025

As Secretary-General of Dewey MUN 2025, I had the privilege of leading and shaping an entire conference built around the theme “Uniting in a Decoupling World.” In a time when global divisions - economic, political, and ideological - seem sharper than ever, I sought to create a space where young delegates could rediscover the essence of diplomacy: collaboration beyond borders. From conceptualizing the conference theme to mentoring the Secretariat and moderating inter-committee dialogues, my role extended far beyond logistics - it was about cultivating a shared vision. What I valued most, however, was witnessing participants transform from hesitant speakers into confident diplomats. That moment affirmed for me that leadership in diplomacy is not about commanding a room, but about empowering voices within it.

WFUNA 2025

Representing France (Workers) in the International Labour Organization committee at WFUNA International Model UN 2025 in New York was a defining experience for me as both a student and an aspiring diplomat. Engaging in debates within the very halls of the United Nations, I learned that diplomacy is less about competition and more about empathy, patience, and the courage to listen. Receiving the Diplomacy Award was not just a recognition of performance, but a reminder of the ideals that brought me there - to build bridges through dialogue and to use my voice in service of collective understanding and progress.

IMUN 2024

Participating in the International Model United Nations 2024 as the Delegate of UNDP – Denmark was an eye-opening experience that reshaped how I perceive global governance. Immersed in debates on sustainability and human development, I learned that diplomacy is not just about negotiation—it’s about empathy, patience, and understanding the balance between ideals and practicality. IMUN 2024 offered me a glimpse into the real-world challenges faced by global leaders and strengthened my resolve to pursue pathways where words can inspire action and collaboration can lead to meaningful change.

Support for people after typhoon yagi

After Typhoon Yagi, I joined a volunteer effort to deliver food, clothing, and school supplies to affected families. Beyond relief work, it was a lesson in empathy and resilience—seeing how hope endures even in the aftermath of loss reminded me why community matters most.

Teaching at Cau Rao fishing village

I joined a teaching project at Cau Rao floating village, where many children live on boats and have limited access to education. I spent my days helping them read, write, and dream beyond their surroundings. The experience taught me how small acts of care and learning can truly change someone’s world.
